I've another WIP ticked off the list! My fetchings are done and dusted. Just a baby cardigan to do (once I rip out one side) and the donegal blanket. I think I'll frog the rose tyler arm warmers though, too fiddley for me at the minute.
I got the parents foot measurements, so maybe one of the many pairs of socks will be for them this year - the mother's birthday is in April so I might try and get a pair for her.... not handwash socks though (she felted my brothers pair earlier in the year)
So... pic of the fetchings. My camera is crap so you've been warned!
I skipped a cable repeat and the picot edging, but I like them!

I think the thumb ring really looks good with them ... hmmm, I wonder if I can hoke out a thumb ring. Hey - imitation is the highest form of flattery!
why thank you very much!
Sad story about that thumb ring though. if you're interesting in hearing the saddest tale in the world, let me know.
oh no .... sad stories, go on ... i have tha hankies ready ....
Well, i was quite taken with this ring since I reaquainted myself with it, wore it ALL the time and never took it off.
One day, my dad decided to attack the trees with clipper and cutty things, and left the branches on the ground. Me, being the helpful creature that I am, lifted the branches and stuffed them in the brown bin (which had old spud peelings and melon, tea bags and icky stuff in it)
To my horror, the ring slipped off my thumb and landed with a soft thud at the bottom of the bin.The Precious was gone, it had run away and left me. I wasn't sticking my hand in there, so it's now in a compost heap watching everything around it rot.
The end :(
oh no! But if it's in the compost bin thing, do you mean at your house? You could maybe retrieve it if it is ... you could do that compost tea thing lol
the bin was lifted, so its in a HUGE compost bin somewhere.... the Precious is lost, gone and never coming back
